Choosing a pre-workout supplement that works is hard. I need one that packs a punch. After trying a few others, I found Redcon 1 Total War.
About 1 and 1/2 hours before my workout, I mixed one scoop of powder, sour-gummy flavored, Total War with 4oz. of cold water. Then, I stuck it in the freezer for a little more than an hour, so it would be ice cold when I drank it. I drank it, then waited 25 minutes to begin my workout.
At first, I didn’t notice anything. But after about 15 minutes into my workout, I felt a surge of energy, unlike anything I felt from using other pre-workout supplements.
I started feeling tingly on my skin. That is a normal side effect of beta-alanine. Beta-Alanine is a version of the amino acid ‘alanine’. It’s studied for its ability to enhance muscular endurance and reduce exhaustion.
I felt like I could keep working out without stopping. You know those workouts that make you just wanna shout, “Whoooo”, while you’re pushing weight around. In my case, I was doing dance fitness. So the shout-out was appropriate.
I’ve been taking the Total War 20 minutes before each workout for over 2 weeks now. The surge of energy is just as strong as it was on the first day I took it.
I’ve read some product reviews that said that the person experienced a crash a couple of hours after taking the supplement. I didn’t experience any crash. My energy level rose fast then it stayed consistent throughout my entire workout. I will say that I had above normal energy for a few hours. The energy wore off subtly over time, and I was able to sleep as well as always.
Total War has 320mg of active caffeine per serving. It’s a combination of Caffeine Anhydrous and Di-Caffeine Malate. Caffeine Anhydrous is a dehydrated form of caffeine that promotes alertness and wakefulness. And Di-Caffeine Malate is a slower release form of caffeine. Yes. I could feel the caffeine, for sure.
This has 6mg of Citrulline Malate, which helps boost nitric oxide levels to help increase blood flow and deliver nutrients to your muscles, That’s what made me feel like I could keep on going after over an hour of dance fitness.
Another ingredient is Taurine. Taurine is an amino acid studied to help improve metabolic function and exercise performance.
I will continue to use Redcon 1 Total War pre-workout supplement before all my workouts.
One more thing about this pre-workout supplement is that I sweat way more than I normally do when not taking it. Since our bodies release toxins through sweat, then this is a good thing.
I recommend this pre-workout supplement to any and every person who wants to increase their energy during their workouts. On a scale of 1-10, I give it a 9. It would be a 10 if I wouldn’t have had the tingly skin. But then again, the ingredient that causes the tingling, is necessary to get the full effect of the supplement.
If you want to try it for yourself, you can get it from Amazon.
